CABIN FEVER

I thought of you.

and how loud you can be.

so loud it’s claustrophobic.

how you shake me from the inside.

Gobstopper Gallery is back after a two year hiatus to present, Cabin Fever, a series of drawings by gallery director Nicholas Burns. What started as an exercise in mark-making and spontaneity with horror movies as its primary source material, later evolved into a study of one’s inner monologue and the ways in which a person gives way to its more intrusive and occasionally irrational nature. By taking cues from the thriller genre and pairing that with his stream of consciousness writing pieces, used almost as sketches here; Burns aims to find parallels between the frenetic jolt of a jump scare and the fragile inner workings of our psyche.
